Q - Where do pictures and videos go when I unvault them?
A - Make sure you are giving Vaulty long enough to unvault the media before exiting the app. Also, try turning your phone off and then back on. That may help your phone's gallery find the media you unvaulted.

Q - Why does Vaulty need messaging permissions?
A - The messaging permissions that this app requires are for phones that can add media to the vault directly from picture messages. It would force close without this permission on those devices.

Find Your Friends On Facebook

Make Facebook Useful: Find your Friends

Most of Facebook’s features depend on the idea that there are people in your life that you like to stay in touch and connect with. Whether these people are best friends, family, coworkers, or acquaintances, once you connect to them, they are considered Facebook friends. We’ve created a few ways for you to easily find your friends. Without friends, Facebook can feel kind of empty.

Friend Finder

Friend Finder asks you for your email address and password. Facebook then runs a check of the emails in your address book to see if any of the addresses match people who currently have profiles on Facebook. You can select which people you would like to send friend requests; friendships on Facebook need to be confirmed by both people before they become official.

Additionally, since we believe that Facebook is most useful when all of your friends are here, Friend Finder will prompt you to invite your contacts to join. You will be able to select which contacts, if any, you’d like to invite.

To get to Friend Finder, roll over “Friends” in the top menu and select “Find Friends.”

Classmates Search

Searching for classmates is an easy way to find good friends that you may have lost track of along the way. To get to Classmate Search, roll over “Friends” in the top menu and select “Find Friends.” At the bottom of that page, you’ll see links to search for classmates if you’ve added school networks.

Once you get to the Classmate Search page, you can search either by high school, or by college. You can’t search both your high school and your university at the same time. To narrow down your results, choose a class year when searching.

Coworkers Search

Coworker search is an easy way to find people you know from your current or former job. You can find Coworker Search in the same page as Classmate Search.

Once you get to the Coworker Search page, simply enter a company and hit search. You might want to enter a name if you’re looking for someone in particular, but it’s not required.

Name Search

At any time, no matter where you are on Facebook, you can use the quick search box (at the top right corner of the top menu) to search for your friends by name. Simply type in the name you are looking for and hit enter.

If you get no results, check to make sure you didn’t misspell or use a former name. If not, you can try searching by that person’s email address if you know it.

Social Networking

Online social networking tools provide a way for people to connect with each other for friendship, dating, business, mutual support or sharing information. Social Networking has been around since the earliest days, and people have networked at events and in person, yet not until the early 2000s did social networking take off as a popular online activity. The predecessor to social networking websites was instant messaging and online chat rooms.

facebook login page

Profiles

Most social networking sites are centered around users' personal profiles, which often include basic personal information and a photo as well as more detailed information about interests, values and goals. These profiles are also likely to display a public listing of each person's friendship connections, to make friends' friends more accessible.

Communication Tools

Social networking sites generally incorporate a number of communication tools within the network, including private messaging (email), instant messaging, chat, groups, forums, and video and photo sharing. These tools are designed to facilitate communication between current friends and to encourage reaching out to meet new ones.

Birds of a Feather

Some social networking sites are general, multi-purpose friendship sites where anyone can join and participate. Two of the most popular of these are MySpace and Facebook. There are also social networking sites revolving around almost every shared interest imaginable, such as deviantART (for artists), LinkedIn (for business connections) and Flixster (for movie lovers). Almost all social networking sites are designed to create communities of like minded users.

How to Login to Facebook

Facebook is the most popular social networking website, with over 400 million active users. Over 100 million users log on to Facebook at least once per day, and, worldwide, more than 3.5 million minutes are spent on the site every day. Here you can learn how to login to Facebook and troubleshoot some problems you might encounter in the login process.

Thanks to the functionality of the site, logging in to Facebook is a simple process which requires only the username and password that you created when you signed up. However, from time to time people do encounter login problems. This guide will help you go step by step through the login process, even if you have lost/forgotten your login email address or password.

There can be issues getting into Facebook, but once you're logged in, you'll have an idea of why the site is so popular. You will find photos, public profiles, and, hopefully, invitations to become friends with fellow members. Have fun and happy Facebooking!

How Facebook Works

This video provides the viewer with a brief overview on how to access Facebook and the basic functionality that it has. Among the steps covered is the login portion. It can be used in conjunction with the information in this guide to learn how to properly login and use basic Facebook features.

Step 1: Go to Facebook.com

The easiest way to access Facebook is to enter its specific URL: www.facebook.com. You can also find it by entering "facebook" into a search engine and clicking on the first link.

Step 2: Enter Your Login Information

The front page of Facebook.com has a dark blue bar at the top of the screen. On the right side of the bar are two dialog boxes. On the left dialog box, type in the e-mail address that you used to sign up for the account. On the left, enter the password that you created when creating your membership, then click the "Login" button.

Step 3: Using "Remember Me"

There is a "Remember Me" box that you can check if you want your computer to save your login information and log you in automatically the next time you visit the site. It is not generally advised to use this function if working on a public computer, such as a shared work computer or library computer.

Step 4: Resolving Errors

There are several reasons for problems with logging into Facebook, and even tiny errors will result in failure. Some of the problems include:

Entering the wrong e-mail address or password. This is the most common problem with entering the site, and commonly occurs when a user has multiple e-mail accounts and cannot remember which account was used to sign up for Facebook. Make sure you are using the same address and password that was used when you initialized the account, and retype it if necessary.
Having your "Caps Lock" turned on. Login information for Facebook is case sensitive, so make sure that the capital letter lock key on the keyboard is not turned on.
Forgotten password. If you have forgotten your password, there is a "Forgot your password?" link above the login tabs on the front page. If you click on this, it will take you to a page where you can enter your e-mail address. Facebook will send you a message with a link to reset your password. If the e-mail does not show up, check your Spam folder, as the automated e-mail may end up being misread as spam.
Forgotten/unreachable e-mail account. If you have forgotten the e-mail address that you used to sign up for Facebook, or you no longer have access to the e-mail address that you used when you set up the account, you can access a login help page at http://www.facebook.com/help/login.php. On this page, enter your full name, date of birth and contact e-mail, and Facebook's Help Center will resolve your issue.

Once you have logged in, Facebook will take you to your personalized home page, which will list links to your profile, friends and Facebook Inbox, as well as the latest postings from your Facebook friends.

How to Poke Someone on Facebook

This Mahalo page will provide information on how to poke someone on Facebook.

Facebook was founded by a Harvard student named Mark Zuckerberg. He launched it on February 4, 2004 while still in school. It all started as a hobby and with the help of two fellow students he managed to bring the social network to the next level. Eventually he ended up dropping out of school to run the application full time. Today over 8 million people in the United States use Facebook. It's the second largest social network after MySpace. 1

Finding new people to become friends with is one way to use your Facebook account. However, once you've connected with several people on Facebook, you can still lose touch. Sometimes friends may need a little reminder that you are thinking of them or that you are still around on Facebook. This is where the 'Poke' feature comes in. Poking someone on Facebook is basically giving them a nudge and reminding them that you are still on the social network. A 'Poke' can be interpreted in many ways, it can mean anything from 'Look at me' to 'Hey, how are you?' Facebook leaves it up to the users to read into the 'Poke' what they want.

Below you will find step by step information on how to go about poking someone on Facebook. Keep in mind that once you can only poke people that you are already friends with and once you poke someone you cannot take it back, so proceed with caution.2

Poking a Facebook Friend

In this video, you will learn how to poke a friend on Facebook using the button on their profile, under their picture. Someone must be your friend on Facebook before you can poke them.

  4. Now you can add your Facebook profile and start adding friends.3

Step 2: Find & Add Friends

In order to poke your Facebook friends, you will need to have them. The next step is therefore adding friends to your Facebook account. You can only poke your friends on Facebook, not strangers. To add friends to your Facebook account, do the following:

  1. Log into your Facebook account.
  2. Click on the 'Find Friend' tab in the upper right corner
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the page and type in the name or email address of the friend you would like to add.
  4. A list of people that fit the criteria will show up.
  5. Click the 'Add as friend' tab to send the person of your choice a friend request. Once they accept your request, they will be added to your list of Facebook friends.4

Step 3: Poke Friends

Now that you've created a Facebook account and added some friends to it, you can opt to 'Poke' one or more of them. This could just be to get their attention or to remind them that you are still around. To poke someone, do the following:

  4. You can search for friends by name, use the friend finder to search through the addresses in your email account or search for friends by school or workplace.

Privacy Settings

Facebook users can control which groups can see their information and photos through the use of privacy settings. These options can be accessed by clicking on "Privacy Settings" under the "Account" tab.
